To realize that all living things are precious in their own special way, to look inside of ones self and truly know that all life is only a reflection of themselves, to sense the "Oneness" and unity of all beings, that is the mark of a true warrior.
To respect the "truths" of others even when they strongly disagree with your own personal truth, to smile and say I love you to those who may curse you and try to tear you down, to see clearly when things around you seem dark and full of confusion, to allow your LIGHT to brightly shine even as the world seems to try and knock you down, that is the mark of a true warrior.
To remain steadfast in your dreams of a peaceful world when all around you signs point to a world filled with violence and unrest, to see others through their eyes instead of your ego, to extend your hand in love and peace to another even though they may just have stabbed you in the back, that is the mark of a peaceful warrior.
To take a moment to quietly sit and just BE in the moment, to keep smiling when all you feel like doing is crying, to know you are already good enough without needing anyone else to validate your worth, to remain strong when others say you are weak, to forgive when others say you should seek revenge, to be content knowing what others say about you makes no difference, that is the mark of a true warrior.
To take criticism and not be offended, to be willing to listen and not to argue, to admit you still have lots to learn, to understand you really don't know much at all, to brush aside the grip of your ego self, to allow the real you to stand tall, to see failure as only another opportunity, that is the mark of a true warrior.
To remain true to one's philosophy when others tell you they think you are crazy, to remain strong in one's beliefs especially when you feel so helpless, to see the perfection, the beauty in others even when their words and actions are used to spread lies to try and hurt another, that is the mark of a peaceful warrior.
To know we judge others only from our own limited perspective, but at the same time to know we might just be wrong, to lovingly accept another's perspective of yourself without becoming bitter or demanding they understand you as you think they should, to be able to judge another's way of living without condemning them for what they think or do, to love them without demanding they change, that is the mark of a peaceful warrior.
To see beyond the illusion that we are separate, but instead to see that we are all ONE, to accept that we are where we are due to our own decisions, to not blame others for our circumstances we find ourselves embedded in, that is the way of the peaceful warrior.
To see no color, no status, no difference when we look upon a fellow human being, to look at another's heart instead of judging by outward appearances, to say what can I do to make your life easier instead of saying what can you do for me, to try and lift someone up when they may be down, to seek no reward for any good you may do, that is the mark of a true warrior.
To find peace within even if your world seems to be turned upside down, to not be easily offended by another's words, to keep your opinion to yourself unless it happens to be part of the solution, to put another's desires above your own from time to time, to remain centered and steadfast in your love for everyone even if that love is not returned, to remain at peace when all around you you see mayhem, that is the mark of a peaceful warrior.
To all you wonderful brothers and sisters out there I wish for you the very best of everything. Be good to yourselves and if possible even better to others. May I once again remind you the above is ONLY my personal thoughts and perspective on things. I am not asking anyone to agree or disagree, but I sincerely invite all of you to join me on a similar path so maybe, just maybe, one day this world will be able to live in peace. These things I share with you today come from directly from my heart and that makes them neither "right" or "wrong". It is merely an expression of what I wish to become as a human being. I bless you all!captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-59228344874783379822020-03-14T15:04:00.000-07:002020-03-14T15:04:12.367-07:00THE MIND SURE IS A FUNNY THINGI used to jokingly say that of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most. Now days I'm not sure if I have lost my mind or if the rest of the world is all crazy. Hmmmmm. It's been a bit since I've written anything on here and this could possibly be the last thing for awhile. I just don't know any more. I'm getting old, lazy, and maybe a bit jaded as well. There was a time when I felt I had a lot to say to others but now I'm just keeping more and more thoughts to myself. And that I suppose is the way it is meant to be. I shouldn't have to remind folks to be good to each other. I shouldn't have to remind them of anything. This world is quickly becoming one I don't really have much use for. I still love everybody and am still amazed at times at all the "good" I see here. But I feel like anything I try to say is taken the wrong way and misunderstood by most. But that's ok too I suppose. Back to losing my mind for a bit. If I told you the Corona Virus is not real, that there are those using the virus scare as a political weapon, that the world can be flat or round either one, that in the end none of this is real to begin with, that all you "see" is only illusion, etc would you then tell me I have lost my mind? Probably so. Really I don't propose to know anything much. I do know that long ago while I was in a meditative state of pure bliss these words came to my mind,"Give love, accept love, be love, for that is truly all you are." And now at a much later time in my life I see things more clearly. Maybe my mind is "gone" but I refuse to play some games any longer. I will keep dreaming of a world where we all walk hand in hand and where we all work together as ONE! I leave you with thoughts of love, peace, and clarity for all you wonderful folks. Be good to yourself and even better to others!captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-38571346845533805902019-01-13T19:44:00.002-08:002019-01-13T19:44:31.505-08:00STILL DREAMINGWell folks here it is 2019 another year older, slightly burned out but still smoking. And of course I'm still dreaming. Dreaming of a brand new world where all my brothers and sisters walk hand in hand. Living together, realizing we are all ONE and that when we harm another we are actually harming ourselves. Sometimes I just don't get it. Then at times I seem to understand things a bit better and on and on it goes. I refuse to give up on my dreams even when things seem to get so screwed up. After all these years of striving to understand things and to become the human being I wish to one day be I have finally realized that personally I don't know squat! I don't have the answers that plague humanity. I don't know where we are all headed. I don't know what happens when we depart this 3D world of illusion. I really don't know much of anything if truth be told. But I remain steadfast in my belief that all any of us need to learn to do is to love everybody! Just think for a moment what a wonderful experience this could be for everyone if we all did just love each other. I have finally arrived at the point of realization that all I can personally do is to try and be the change I wish to see. I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm only going to continue to try and love and accept everybody as my brother and my sister. This Path I have chosen is a hard one for sure. I don't claim to always be successful in everything I do but I am trying to be that change. Here's hoping this new year will bring each one of you beautiful people much love, joy, peace of mind, and contentment. Be good to yourself and even better to others. By doing that maybe this can help bring you all the joy and love you need to have a most wonderful experience as a human being. I send much love and all good blessings your way.captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-65825862248581154502018-11-26T09:19:00.000-08:002018-11-26T09:19:15.415-08:00The Thrift Store PoetsCountry music straight from the heart – Thrift Store Poets

Hailing from Oklahoma, Christopher Ledgerwood is a songwriter and music producer who recently sent us his latest record with Thrift Store Poets. Consisting of just five tracks, the release is the perfect soundtrack for cruising the empty streets of your city at night and contemplating over your life choices but with a smile on your face and not regret. Music-wise Thrift Store Poets are playing rock-influenced country with a strong blues feel. Their music is neither too dramatic nor too positive. It comfortably sits somewhere in between making your time with it always exciting and enjoyable.
The tracks here are mostly mid-tempo paced, with opener ‘Devil’s Game’ our total favorite of the bunch for the cool dialogue between the guitar and the piano. If you’re in the mood for a heart-breaking country anthem then follower “Least of These” is definitely your jam with its absolutely beautiful and touching lyrics. Its intimate acoustic guitars are almost left to sing their sad tunes in the background of the mix… and that harmonica in the end perfectly crafted sound and composition.
Not sure if we dig the violin-driven instrumental track in the record too much but maybe its more chaotic feel was on purpose as the piece is called ‘Orchestrated Noise’. Anyhow it still makes for a cool prelude to the closing ‘Something Better’. That’s the most uplifting track on the release, both in terms of lyrics and music. To have it actually at the end of it all was a top choice as it leaves you wanting for more from Thrift Store Poets. Let’s see where they will take us next time.

So I thought why not share a few of these old poems with you. The first one I want to share is Illusions In Grey. I wrote this piece several years ago and had the privilege of reading it at a poetry slam held at the Paducah Market House Theater some years ago.
Illusions In Gray
A simple life, yet woven thread by thread
Blending into the tapestry of life's illusions
Each experience colored by shades of gray
Distinguished by one's own perceptions
Judgments, yea right, wrong, good, evil
Truth's, still unknown, concealed alike nuggets
Buried, awaiting one's precipitant discovery
The light ceases to shine, but doth it really?
No wait, there, it cascades it's beacon outward
Twas only obscured potential masked by clouds
Which contain doubts, fears, and a restless unknowingness
Light shines through, where doth the darkness burrow?
Thru the mist of gray it's rays burst forth
With many a sliver of radiant beauty
Distant, afar at first glance, tho it be
It caresses tenderly those colors of gray
Transforming the hues to reds, yellows
Blues, greens, all color that lies between
I see a tint of green, you say blue
Whose dream is this? Mine or yours?
I say mine, so green it must surely be
It makes no difference that I can discern
For all the shades, the tints, the ambiguous hues
From the One Source they all did arrive
So make your dream one colored in blue, that's alright
This One Source I speak of, make it your heart's delight
For that's all you really have, believe it or not!
This Source, this Light, it possesses no judgments
It awaits your call, tis your humble servant
It has only to offer an unconditional love
It serves each one equally, there are no favorites
If I want red, it pours down red
If you choose yellow, then yellow it is
I speak of colors, tho not the only illusion
Each path chosen to be trod upon by each one
I imagine twill be filled with many a winding turn
Taking one here, one there, one everywhere
What is it you choose? Where would you love to go?
What is it you would love to have manifest?
Tis all up to you, I hope you can plainly see
What color journey does your soul desire?
Which illusions to disrobe? Which ones to retain?
Whichever the road, what ere the dream
Walk proud each step, know you are never alone
Remember teh Light, the One Source of all
It dwells within, awaiting your beckoning call
Try heeding it's tranquil summons to unconditional love
Enjoy your illusions, your colors, your dreams
Allow others theirs no matter how they seem
Take freely from life, but be quick to share
Be the color you choose, and do it with passion
After the greatest illusion you've shattered
The soul is allowed to return to it's Source
Then you will know, you're at long last Home
Where all is One and One is all
Go swiftly my friend, I'll someday meet you there.
I leave all of you folks with thoughts of pure love, joy, peace and Oneness. Be good to yourselves and even better to others. Let your Light shine brightly!captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-73618016321281924292018-07-27T09:53:00.001-07:002018-07-27T09:53:37.743-07:00VODCAST~MUSE | S01 EP#010 | CONVERSATIONS w/CAPTRON<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BDZbQJHDxcI" width="459"></iframe>captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-52385850429684695922018-07-20T06:45:00.001-07:002018-07-20T06:45:28.590-07:00VODCAST~MUSE|S01 EP#009|CONVERSATIONS w/CAPTRON<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6tthAy8gjvY" width="459"></iframe>captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-87229927382697048002018-07-13T06:50:00.001-07:002018-07-13T06:50:07.264-07:00~VODCAST~MUSE|EPISODE #008|CONVERSATIONS W/CAPTRON~2018<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XD4ch8E1ezk" width="459"></iframe>captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-48268709221845244452018-06-30T12:29:00.000-07:002018-06-30T12:29:33.031-07:00JUST ANOTHER STORMBack on September 11th of last year and then again on June 12th of this year I wrote about the two trees that sit in my front lawn. Ironically in the one on June 11th of this year I talked about how the one tree had survived a lot of trauma in it's time but that it was still standing tall. I also made mention that maybe one day a storm would come along and completely destroy the tree. Well, a couple of days ago another storm rolled through. One moment I was talking on the phone with an old friend and the next minute the storm raged quickly down the street I live on. The winds, according to our local weather people, were between 60 and 70 miles per hour. The phone went dead, the lights and all the power went completely out, and the storm kept on raging. I heard a loud thump and when I opened the front door I saw a large part of my tree lying in the front ditch. As I walked out on the front porch the wind was blowing so hard I was having trouble just standing still. I watched for as long as I could until the rain began to fall so hard I was quickly getting drenched. I went back inside and stood by the window(yeah, I know you ain't supposed to stand by a window during a storm but I ain't the smartest person on earth) watching the wind and rain remain a torrent. The storm passed fairly quickly and then again, things were calm as could be. Upon inspection of my beloved tree I had all kinds of thoughts running through my mind. But the one that said the most to me was that God I love this tree and if I have to cut it completely down then it has endured it's last storm. About half of the tree is now lying on the ground and I'm not in too big a hurry to chop it up throw it away. If I lived out in the country somewhere instead of a subdivision I may just let it stay in the yard and decompose naturally. But I know I'm gonna have to get it removed soon. I have learned so many lessons about life just by loving and listening to this tree since the year of 2006. Now if I do have to cut this one down I will still have one left and I will wait and see what kind of lessons it will teach me. I would just like to remind everyone of how quickly the things and most importantly the people we love can be taken from us in a split second. We all know that, but yet it seems we continue to take for granted those we love. We continue to argue, disrespect, and at times even hate our brothers and our sisters, our husbands and wives, our friends and so on. Personally I have seen so many people I love just quickly disappear from my life for one reason or the other. So I tell myself often to never take for granted anything I love because like my storm damaged tree it can be there one moment and gone the next. And just in case I haven't told you lately that I love you, then I say it now. May your life be blessed with lots of love, inner peace, and joy! Be good to yourselves and even better to others if you can.captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-59258318229046694712018-06-29T12:33:00.001-07:002018-06-29T12:33:36.848-07:00VODCAST~MUSE|EPISODE #006|CONVERSATIONS W/CAPTRON<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Z2HM06A2O7Q" width="459"></iframe>captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-11011637988873910092018-06-22T08:40:00.001-07:002018-06-22T08:40:05.571-07:00VODCAST MUSE | EPISODE #005 part 3 | CONVERSATIONS W/CAPTRON<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vTJucNUUjuA" width="459"></iframe>captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-80456046106240202252018-06-15T07:51:00.001-07:002018-06-15T07:51:08.156-07:00VODCAST MUSE | EPISODE #005 part 2 | CONVERSATIONS W/CAPTRON<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VmTx5AAtDQI" width="459"></iframe>captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-37969147351926187082018-06-13T19:59:00.001-07:002018-06-13T19:59:15.487-07:00VODCAST MUSE | EPISODE #005 part 1 | CONVERSATIONS W/CAPTRON<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0RNX3uMTrMs" width="459"></iframe>captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-64919129941342929192018-06-12T14:56:00.000-07:002018-06-12T14:56:16.676-07:00MAN, I LOVE THESE TWO TREESI've written before about one of the two Bradford pear trees which sit in my front lawn. The one that was damaged by an ice storm in 2009 I think it was. Now it remains a little bent but also tall and strong as ever. At the moment I'm sitting on the front porch watching a thunderstorm in the making. As the winds pick up and blow harder and harder I silently watch these two trees dance with whatever life happens to throw at them. And after each storm passes both trees continue to be true to what they are. Which is a perfect expression of just Being. After this storm today I'm sure tomorrow will be a hot and humid day here in Paducah Kentucky. But I'm sure these two trees will stand tall and just bask in whatever life throws their way. And even if one day,a storm manages to seemingly destroy one or both of these trees they have taught me well. Just love the moment, no matter what life is handing you. As they silently walked along the white sandy beach each of them were filled with a sense of peace and even awe at the majestic ocean that stretched out before them. As they stopped to rest one of the men stated,"Isn't the ocean just so beautiful with the blue water that it contains?" "Yes, it is beautiful" stated the other fellow, "but the water is not blue, it is green." The woman chimed in with " I agree that this ocean is so beautiful but both of you are wrong, the water is actually aqua marine colored!" As the three of them continued their debate as to what color the water actually was an old blind man happened upon the argument. As he stopped and listened to the debate he just smiled to himself and then introduced himself to his new "friends" he had just met. "Please pardon my intrusion into your friendly debate as to what color the ocean is. Would you folks care to hear my opinion?" After being warmly greeted and told that they would love to hear what he had to say the old blind man stated, "This ocean is orange." His 3 new friends chuckled and thought he was just trying to be funny. "Why would you say that", they inquired of him, and then the old man began his story. "Well, it's like this, a long time ago I was where you are now. I carried my perceptions of things high up in my mind thinking I really knew what I was talking about. If I saw something that seemed so true to me then I would be quick to argue my point and try to disprove anyone else's point of view. I was just so convinced that I was "right" about things and others were oft times wrong if they did not see things as I perceived them. But then everything changed. Literally overnight! I totally lost my eyesight. I was a young man who could no longer "see". I was at first in deep despair and could not figure out why my eyesight had been taken from me. But after accepting things as they were I began to realize that even though I was now "blind" I could still learn to really "SEE". "I won't go into all the details of my journey but I will tell you why I say the ocean is orange. You see, before I "lost" my eyesight orange was my favorite color. I never was sure why but I just loved orange! So now, as I stand here on this warm sandy beach looking out over this majestic ocean I see it filled with vibrant orange colors. That is why I say the ocean is orange! "But after all, does the color really matter? You see green, you see blue, you see Aqua, I see orange, so what? You know that really doesn't change the ocean one bit. It is all only our own particular perception of color and color is only an illusion. A bending of light in some way I will never fully understand!" The other 3 listened intently to this old blind man as he spoke and then decided he was probably right. It didn't really matter that they had different opinions as to the waters color. They could instead just enjoy their perception, their beauty of the ocean, while at the same time allowing others to do the same even if the perceptions were different. Just imagine a world where everyone could be free to express their "Truth" without having to defend it, or to convince anyone else of it's merits. Back to the characters in this little story, which one would you care to say is "right" or "wrong"? Personally I'd have to say all of them are right! So I leave you with hopes that you can and will color your "oceans" of life any damned color you wish too! And as you do please try to remember to allow everyone else to do the same. There is plenty of room for all "Truths" and a blank canvas for us to use to color our world as we see fit. Be good to yourself and even better to others my friends. I leave you with thoughts of love, peace, and oneness for all.captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-60274536678898090562017-12-28T05:58:00.003-08:002017-12-28T05:58:46.107-08:00IS IT EVER REALLY HARD TO LOVE SOMEONE?I once had someone very close and dear to my heart tell me "I am finding it really hard to love you right now" I have often thought about those words many times here lately. One thing I have noticed about most human beings is that when they find themselves in a difficult situation with another person one of the first things they do is to withhold love from that person. To me I think they should be doing just the opposite. And that would be to love that person even more at the moment. I still believe that to ever withhold love for any reason is just another moment and opportunity squandered! I have seen that lots of people think love is something they can randomly give out or withhold depending on the situation. They feel if the other person is not doing what they want them to do, or if that other person is "causing" them some kind of problem, then it is fine to say I find it hard to love you right now. Just my humble opinion, but I feel if this is the "kind" of love you are holding in your heart then you may be better served to take a closer look at what love really can be. Those who do not agree with you, those who would curse you, those who would take from you, those who would hate you, and on and on, are the ones I feel you should be loving the most. Because they need it more to maybe enable them to see that there is never a good time to withhold love to another human being. After all, it is rather easy to love someone when they are doing the things we expect them to and when they are fulfilling some need we think we have. Real unconditional love is that love we extend to others when they are causing us some kind of grief in our own lives. Just love yourself first then love everyone no matter what they are doing and I think you may find that is one key to having a fulfilled life. But once again, everything I say is only my "Truth" and means nothing to anyone else. I leave all you beautiful folks with thoughts of love, inner peace, and joy now and forever. Be good to yourself and even better to others.captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1159176547248680273.post-3514010395478339242017-11-23T06:25:00.001-08:002017-11-23T06:25:50.231-08:00DAMNED IF I DIDN'T GET KNOCKED DOWN AGAINMan, let me tell ya, life sure is funny! Seems no matter what happens to be going on in one's life, there will come a time when they just get knocked down flat on their back by someone's actions. It happens all the time. The secret is to just keep on getting back up, looking life in the face and saying "Bring it on, I can handle it". I remember a song by B.B. King that says Flying high, some joker clips my wings, just because he gets a kick outta doing those kind of things, I keep falling in space, just hanging in midair, but I know, yes I know, there must be a better world somewhere! Here's hoping that the next time you get knocked down you can once again pick yourself up, take a lesson from whatever happened, forgive(I hear you Christopher lol), and just become a stronger and better human being from having been knocked down again! Much love, inner peace, and joy I send your way. Be good to yourself and even better to others.captron52http://www.blogger.com/profile/15378608035494726170noreply@blogger.com4
