A verse from the song "Sweet Love" written by Lionel Ritchie and performed by The Commodores about says it all. The line goes like this: "If I was at a place where dreams are for dreamers and all you wished came true, I'd wish the world had all happy people, then there'd be no more wishing to do." Can you dream of a world that is filled with only happy people? I often dream of such a world. And my heart aches when I realize that this is only true in my dreams. But will my dreams ever come true? I'm afraid it will not. At least not in my lifetime. And still I wonder why. Why is there so much unhappiness, so much hate, and so much suffering in our world today? I realize that happiness is only a state of mind and that each of us have our own visions as to what it is that will make us happy. For some happiness means having lots of money. Or maybe finding our "perfect" mate. For some, happiness is having a good job, a great family, trustworthy friends, fame and fortune, or many other things we can possess. While all of these are great things to aspire to, I think it takes much more to find true happiness. I have come to find that the thing I need most is love. Unconditional love. I am trying to love myself and I'm still working every day to learn to love everyone in this world. And that is such a daunting undertaking at times. I find it hard to still love those who spread hate, fear, and prejudice and don't seem to care about anyone other than themselves. I try to see beyond the things they do and still find love in my heart for them. I can abhor the evil deeds they do and still love them the best way I know how. It is far from easy to do this and even though I fail time and again, at least I am still trying. I cannot deny all the evil I see people do. But I can at least keep on dreaming that one day soon everyone will learn to love themselves first, and then extend that love to everyone else on the planet. I truly feel that for one to love themselves they will have to put an end to all the evil ways. Love can be easy. Love can be extremely hard and very elusive. But the possibility always remains that one day all of us will see a world full of only happy people! I realize my dream may never come true, but as long as I am able to keep the dream alive, the possibility remains. I hope all of you wonderful people will join me in dreaming of a much better world. May we all quickly learn to be good to ourselves and even better to others. I leave you now with thoughts of perfect love, perfect peace, and perfect joy. If you will, do me a favor and do a random act of kindness for someone. Because you never know when your small act of kindness just may save someone's life. And that my friends, just might bring you more happiness than you have experienced in quite some time! And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining me in my dream of a better world for everyone!

You keep posting such beautiful thoughts. Love is our true nature and so is inherent in all of us, but it gets obscured by the machinations of ego. Currently a great many of us are literally lost souls - having lost touch with our innate nature as loving spiritual beings. But each one of us who nurtures our own loving nature becomes a light in the darkness. One candle can light many others. Love to you and yours Ron, and thanks for spreading your light.

Hey Ron,
Hope all is well with you. I'm not so sure about a world of perpetual happiness - everyone needs a little "down time" occasionally. It is true (however unfortunately) that we often learn the most valuable lessons when we hit the proverbial bottom. On the other hand, I'm with you all the way on the unconditional love idea. It is the purest and most natural of human behaviour. Whatever people say about it actually being greed or aggression, they are wrong - these are "reactions" manufactured by circumstances. Love needs no prompting! It is a shame that people often forget that part!
All the best my friend.

Hi Carl. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. I agree, those times of sadness do make the happy times that much better. As always the best to you and yours.

Namaste brother, kernels of truth mixed in with Ego. Few people know more than I do about what makes your heart tick. You strive to see a world embracing love and work so very hard at "finding a place in your heart" to love the deviants.

This is so difficult to hold two conflicting ideas. First step is to define what love is. You know my journey has been focused on this one task. When we find true love we define it as unconditional. What does this mean? Does this mean we "try to find a place in our heart"? No, it means that we express love without any conditions. How do we get to this lofty ground? We can only do so from a perspective of singularity. Singularity means you are he and he is you. There is no middle ground here brother. You should not have to TRY to find love. Look within your heart, wherever love is denied judgment exists. Where judgment exists, there is separation HE VERSES ME.... as apposed to HE IS ME!

Your contribution to this blog world is magnificent brother; DeepIan said its so well with his first line " You keep posting such beautiful thoughts. Love is our true nature and so is inherent in all of us, but it gets obscured by the machinations of ego"

You choose to express love in a world driven by fear. Consciousness (I believe) transitions from darkness to light / from the material to nothingness / from knowing and experiencing the God Self to absolute ignorance of the God Self. How does consciousness make this journey. I am not sure; but my philosophy suggests it does so as a fractal expression. Expressions in the physical world are fractal in nature, whereas, the greatest of whole is incorporated into the fabric of it's smallest part. The mechanics of materialism further suggests each fractal iteration offers up an almost indiscernible change from the previous and subsequent iterations. In other words, the fabric of an entire universe is encapsulated in a grain of sand. WOW!

Drawing a fractal parallel when referencing consciousness, I believe, we can plop you right at the edge of consciousness Ron.

What does that mean?

Our world (our present expression of consciousness) is in darkness Ron, this is not a revelation. Consciousness obviously is being transmitted through a lens of ignorance, whereas, we do not know the God Self, nor do we comprehend unity consciousness. Instead we are a race driven by Ego, which as we all know lives, eats and sleeps fear. Ego has no cotton with love Ron. I believe we (consciousness) are slowly transitioning toward love and a knowledge of the God Self.

How are we going to get there?

Did you guess fractally?

Exactly right Ron, we (consciousness) are heading exactly where you are taking us! LOVE

You, my dear friend, whom I love so very much, are a fractal ODDBALL!

Look around the internet, tell me how much fear you see and how much love!

Now, take another look and tell me how many places you see are filled with compassion, understanding and one huge dollop of love. I don't mean now and then, I mean every bloody time.

Now that we have that straight Ron. Let's get on with the learning! You are uncomfortable in your clothes because everyone you reach out to can't seem to get it. THEY DON'T HAVE TO! The world does not have to change, it is infinitely beautiful, as are you. However, unconditional love Ron, comes from absolute acceptance and non judgmental expressions.

I AM THAT I AM ( a world of truth exists in these words) I AM THAT I AM

Peace brother, this world (consciousness) is eternally beautiful in all it's manifestations. Please do not ask consciousness to provide for you a reality of cold without hot / up without down / love without fear. For the moment you do, you trespass upon the beauty of unity consciousness. CHOICE>>>>>>>>> WHICH ALLOWS YOU THE ABILITY TO REPRESENT THE BEAUTIFUL FRACTAL DEVIATION WE ALL LOVE AND RESPECT

So there, you had that coming my brother.

In Lak' ech, prosper with knowledge... live beyond judgement....accept all roles (consciousness) as infinitely divine....... or don't :) I will always love you

Hey Christopher So great to hear from you again my friend! I can't disagree with you on this. I realize I am still doing a lot of things from my human ego self. I do know what Oneness is and what unconditional love is. And you are so very right when you state I am an enigma of sorts. I think the main reason I do so many things from the ego center is because I feel so many people will only understand things right now from that perspective. I feel that even those who have no concept of Unity or Oneness still may get a little "good" from hearing from others such as myself who are striving to better connect with our Oneness. I am just trying to give those some "hope" fro a better life. And I also realize I have lots of work to do on myself as far as full comprehension of what Unconditional love really means. I thank you so very much for your input and I really appreciate hearing your words on things of this nature. You are a great friend and I am thankful to be able to share a part of my life with you. Thanks again for your concern and also for the kind words.
