WHAT MAKES A PERSON GREAT

I've often wondered why some folks are considered a great person and others are not. To me it seems we are all one and if true then all of us are great. But again great is just a term given to others as we again try to "label" everybody and every experience instead of just observing. What would we ever do if we didnt have our precious labels to put on others? Anyway getting back to what makes one great I suppose would depend on ones own sense of self-worth and the accolades of others.I tend to agree with Ralph Waldo Emerson who stated the following:"Not in his(hers) goals, but in his transitions is man great." Humm I just wonder, what will you do today that will inspire me to call you a great person? Hey that is an easy one for me to answer! If you will just do something nice for someone without expecting anything in return then I already consider you a "great" person. I leave you with thoughts of perfect peace, perfect love and perfect oneness.

Namaste brother Ron, I like this post. How easy it is for us to forget that separation is illusion. Like you, I see greatness in all manifest reality.

In Lak' ech, ripples of love one hug at a time...

I have to agree wth Chris, greatness is indeed an illusion, though in one's eyes, where another may not quite think so.Defining "greatness" in a single person is personal.Wouldn't you say? Hm..just a thought. You have a way that certainly have people thinking, Cap, chuckles...Perhaps that's why we love you so...

Have you had that grand-baby yet????

Many hugs to you dear friend. Shall visit you again~

Hi Dee Thanks for stopping in. I just left your blog and was touched by your latest entry! What a beautiful baby granddaughter! And yes I do agree--whatever we label any thing or person is purely a personal matter.Hey I think Beevis and Butthead were great!Im sure lots of folks would disagree wtih that one lol Our expected grandson is being fashionably late. Cryastal is expecting any day now, wife is in Texas for the last 2 weeks awaiting the birth. So Ive been relying on a couple of old girlfriends to do the cooking for me-you may know them Sara Lee and Marie Calendar. Give that new baby a gentle kiss from captron ok? Do visit again And thanks for the kind words.

I think that 'greatness' is not an innate quality...it's not enough to just be a human to be considered 'great'....there are plenty of mediocre, conniving people around. I think that truly 'great' people are those who really strive to make the world a better place, and the lives of the people in the world healthier and more conducive to joyful living. We can all do that in small ways, although some of us do it on a very large scale and are to be commended for their actions....great post Ron! You always make me think!
Hope you're having a great week, take care.

Hello Eve thanks again for the visit. I agree withyou in that there are some "egos" in human form that may be labeled less than "great" but beyond the ego selves i still believe we are all great at our center core of beingness."HUGS"
