STAYING IN THE MOMENT

How often do you find yourself so wrapped up in thinking of what you have to do in the future that you completely missed the awesome wonder of the one eternal moment you now are expressing in? If you are like most folks, then I dare say it happens more than you would care to own up to. Seems to me human beings are just kind of built that way. I sure don't believe we are born to do that but as we develop into our own thinking ego self it seems as if we just cannot be satisfied in the moment. We are constantly looking either in the past or toward the future ,  when in reality all we have is the one moment. As I see it, it is entirely ok to plan for the future, or to look back on the past if we think that will help us become a better human being. But just looking back at the past to either condemn ourselves or another human being for something that we done or didn't do is such a waste. We do need to take a look at our past actions so we can learn a lesson from our mistakes, but it serves no purpose to continually berate ourselves for past actions. Just look long enough to learn from it and then move on. As for the future, it is great to make plans and all , but we need to be wary that we do not spend way too much time thinking of the future. Just do the best you can and be willing to change your plans if need be. I know you have heard the old saying that the only thing constant is change and that is very true. No matter what our circumstances in life we all have a golden opportunity to just stop, take a deep breath, and really enjoy the present moment. Just stopping long enough to become aware of all the beauty that surrounds us is golden! In the Holy Bible in Isaiah 43: 18-19 it is written: The Lord said: Forget what happened long ago! Don't think about the past. I am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands. Yep, God in man(woman) as Man(women) is man(woman). Personally I don't care what religion you favor if any one at all. Your personal beliefs about God or lack thereof really doesn't make any difference as I see it. Whatever your beliefs I think you and all of us are witnessing every moment the wonder and the amazement of Spirit at work, working through us to accomplish all the great things we do. If you refuse to let go of any past hurt, slight, or abuse, etc , then you will definitely be hurting yourself even more. I hope you can see the point I wish to make. And that is that we are all One and all things important are happening right now, right here, in this one eternal moment. May you never limit your life by any experience that has happened in the past or by being fearful of what may happen in the future. Instead, may I suggest that you begin living in the moment, and trying to make the most of every experience. And may I also suggest that I believe that if you take this very moment and do something nice for someone else, that you will soon find it is also helping you find the inner peace and contentment you are now seeking. I leave all of you with my hopes that you and yours are enjoying the moment and find yourselves immersed in love for all.

Namaste brother Ron; very enjoyable post. This lesson is so very valuable; all too often we allow ourselves to become trapped into lamenting the past and fearing the future.

Our minds are diseased by past and future considerations. Instead of looking forward or backward in hopes of finding perfection lost, or the desire of perfection yet to be attained, we can realise that each moment of the present will be inevitably become as perfect as we are prepared to allow it to become.

Great post brother, always a breath of fresh air. One day we will all realise perfection is nothing other than a function of our perception. Thanks for spreading the light.

In Lak'ech, brother Ron, prosper in love... live in the now...

Good stuff Ron!
I can't help but wonder how the concept of "time" could become a redundant factor if we can crack the old consciousness nut and tear down the walls of our perceived "reality".
That said, it is a tough nut to say the least and few of us ever get close to finding the key.
As you say, so much of our reality is transitional from moment to moment and we really should make the most of it rather than waste it bogged down in things that are, in the bigger picture, mere trivialities.
Understanding that we are all part of a much larger chorus is a step in the right direction and I certainly hear your voice loud and clear!
All the best my friend.

Thanks for reminding me Cap, dear friend.Sometimes I'd love my world to angle off and even out so as I can stop and reflect. That time comes soon however-ball season will end and school for Lil is the last of next week.We will celebrate and hopefully not be lost in the constant free time we'll face, and enjoy the still moments and not the illusion of passing tumbleweed.

Hugs you're way~
