LISTENING TO GOD

"The voice of God utters Itself, a Voice not in the blustering whirlwinds, nor in the awesome rumblings of the volcano, but a Voice so still that only in the Silence can it be heard, and there It thunders."
Joel Goldsmith, The Thunder of Silence

Oh, Ron! I love this.

Hi, capron. Hope you're doing well. This subject title is interesting. We either listen to God or ourselves, but I guess that's the same person in your beliefs. What about Jesus Christ of the Bible? Was he a liar?

I love this, Ronnie, thank you for sharing! How are you? Namaste, and much love to you and yours! :-)

Hi K J Im doing pretty good.Sure hope you and yours are doing great also!

HI L.M. No I dont think Jesus was aliar. I believe he was a great man who understood he was God incarnated as a human like the rest of us were. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you and yours are doing great!

hey, I like your response minus "like the rest of us." I ask for the purpose of discussion, not to be judgmental, about Jesus. He clearly taught that he was junior to his "Father," a supreme being. Jesus also said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father unless he comes through me." (paraphrased). The Bible says no other name under heaven can save us.
Bible also says that Jesus was incarnated in flesh as a perfect reflection of God. Also says He did not consider equality with God something to be grasped. Question is, how do you reconcile Science of Mind oneness god with the teachings of Jesus? After all, Jesus is the One God choose to represent Himself to humanity, or Jesus is a fraud. It can't be both ways. Most other religions say kind things about Jesus, but reject his God given authority. Really curious how you fuse his teachings with that of men. LM

Here is one way I envision the source of the "Voice of God".

Thanks for stopping by Sabio and sharing the page with another view. I have to totally agree with you in that is more than likely the way Joe got an answer to his prayer.

Thank you Ronnie.
Hopefully my model captures the need for humility, gentleness and mystery which still having a huge Naturalism bent.

Wow! Your view makes sense to the god complex, but is far from truth. Joe would obviously have a personal relationship with Jesus. You can't understand that unless you have it yourself. Our subconscious does indeed influence us, but there is a major difference between that and the voice of God. Jesus said his sheep knows his voice. I can only hope you get a chance to hear from him personally.

But Dear Anonymous,
FYI, I use to know Jesus in a very personal deep way when I was a Christian. I guess I am no longer a sheep.

Sorry, can't judge your salvation, just what you teach as right or wrong. It's a concern when you say you use to know Jesus when you were a Christian. If you had truly known Jesus, and truly heard his voice, its unthinkable that you would dismiss him for a philosophy that equates yourself with God. I totally understand how the subconscious influences us, but the Holy Spirit is much higher than our minds. He is outside of us, although in us. His audible voice has been heard by scores of credible people throughout history. If one only knows stale religion, I do understand how one can fall away from faith. It's the living, real deal that makes the difference. If you and captron are true seekers, and not those looking for a way to justify yourselves, I encourage you to challenge the real God (if there is another one in your mind). You'll have to be prepared to submit to God, however, instead of being equal to God. Best wishes from Paul.

[you should give yourself a fake name so at least we have something to call you]

(a) It is interesting that YOU can judge what is right and wrong. Christians for 1000s of years have disagreed with each other and killed each other saying the same as the formed many sects. So much for your objective truth.

(b) "If you had truly known Jesus" -- ah, I see, if any one has truly know Jesus they will never leave him. Funny logic.

(c) Many people, who are otherwise "credible" have heard the voices of many different gods. We know that otherwise "credible" people can have large areas of their lives that are superstitious.

My religion was alive, fresh, vital and enlivening. When I realized I was misinterpreting things, the vitality, freshness and aliveness in my life did not disappear.

But you can keep being the doctrine cop of the world, you do it so very well.

Thank you. It's clear that you don't have a handle on reality, and that you did not read my entire post. You can call me Paul. My judgement is not my own, but that of Jesus and the Bible. It is the centerpiece of Christian faith and all things must be weighed against it, not SOM. There are scores of false religions, and scores of those called Christians, which means like the Christ, but they are not. It is wrong to throw away the truth because of lying infiltrators who pervert the truth, SOM included. Most of them incorporate enough truth to entice and lead you their way. In the end, they fail you. I regret that for you.

Additionally, it appears that you should respect me as a god who can do no wrong according to SOM. You know..you're okay, I'm okay, everyone's okay. You are judging me according to your own belief system, and its hypocrisy to pretend otherwise. - Paul
